About Lorraine Schuchart:
Lorraine started her career as the director of public
information and special events for the American Cancer Society,
where she managed media relations, held press conferences and
raised significant funding for research and education.
In the following years, she worked in advertising and public
relations, writing for brands including Jeep, Nabisco, Owens
Corning, Owens Illinois, Libbey Inc, the Dana Corporation,
La-Z-Boy, Medical Mutual and the Medical College of Ohio. She
earned nine Addy Awards.
Lorraine moved back to the nonprofit sector, working to raise
support and funding for programs that served with people with
disabilities, teens, and formerly incarcerated adults re-entering
society.
She led PR for Jo-Ann Stores, working with national media from the
Today Show to national and local news across the country. Her team
broke every media record and contributed to the company’s success
during the 2008 recession. Lorraine brought social media back in
house, setting new standards for engagement and customer
satisfaction. She launched the Teacher Rewards Program, along with
local impact programs, expanding the company’s philanthropic
footprint. She requested and was given management of the employee
engagement program, which continues today.
After years of leading relationship management efforts for other
organizations, Lorraine had a vision for a company that could do
well by doing good. She created Prosper for Purpose at her kitchen
table in late 2012 and began working with clients a month later. In
January 2016, Lorraine earned the company the prestigious B Corp
Certification. B Corps meet the highest standards of verified
social and environmental performance, public transparency, and
legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to
solve social and environmental problems.
